Breville BJE430SIL Introduction

The Breville BJE430SIL is a juicer that knows how to flaunt its looks. Modern subtle curves mix well with the technology behind this centrifugal juicer. Breville introduces Cold Spin technology and Elevated Juicing System in this particular model. The Cold Spin technology basically ensures micro-mesh filtration without significant temperature rise. And both technologies work in tandem to ensure you get maximum yield from as little ingredients as possible. Besides, the specific design lets you collect over 2 liters or 70 oz. of juice at once! And once collected, storing the juice is simple too thanks to the direct seal lids. Kept in the refrigerator, in the juicing jar sealed with the special designed lid, juice stays fresher for over 3 days without deteriorating. Additionally, you also get a single serve glass jar.

All this technology would mean nothing if the motor is not powerful enough. This is why Breville uses a 850 watt motor that runs at over 13,000 rpm allowing you to concentrate on the recipe rather than the juicing part. It has enough to deal with even the toughest of veggies and fruits.

Our Breville BJE430SIL Review

There are three things the Breville BJE430SIL is excellent at and an equal number of things where the Breville juicer just doesn’t cut it for us. Yes, this juicer is not for everyone and we will try to explain just who would benefit from it and who should not get this juicer at any cost.

First the great things about the juicer. To start with, it is phenomenally quite for a juicer. Yes, it does not matter what you juice and how much you juice – the juicer simply does not want to make a noise. Operating at the highest speed setting doesn’t produce that much of a marked difference either so overall, we were surprised by the decibel levels on this juicer. Second, the juicer churns through fruits and veggies rather quickly. Yup, it is like a fraction of the time required on a masticating juicer and this is actually important if you are on a tight schedule but do not want to skip out on your daily dose of fresh juice. Good news too that it comes with a pretty large 70oz. juicing jug with its own lid for storage. Does it keep juice fresh for 3 days as advertised? Not exactly but that doesn’t mean you cannot have the juice three days later – it just won’t be 100% fresh. Finally, this juicer does a great job cleaning up afterwards. And we put this as a major achievement because juicers tend to be the hardest kitchen appliance to clean afterwards. Not this Breville though, it clean super easy and even though the entire unit is mostly see-through plastic, staining is not an issue as long as you clean after every use.

Coming to the negatives and yes there are some to be wary of. The juicer is not the most efficient of all. Even for a centrifugal type juice, this one leaves a few chunks out especially when you are working with green vegetables, apples or cucumbers. In fact, if you ran the pulp through a masticating juicer you would probably produce another half-liter of juice per 2 liters on the Breville BJE430SIL. When fruits cost so much nowadays, you want your juicer to be more efficient than that. Next, the juicer tends to stop at times citing the Overload Protection light. Not sure what’s up but it happens randomly and has actually nothing to do with overload because it even happened when we were juicing cucumbers! Thankfully, this is random and rare. The final complaint we have is with the design of the plastic chute that can break if you are not careful. Good news though, Breville has you protected in the first year so if you break anything just give a call and they will instantly send in a replacement part.

So who is the Breville BJE430SIL meant for? If you don’t have the time and want quick results, then this is the juicer for you. Basically, if you can’t stand waiting for maximum efficiency with a masticating juicer, if you still need a good amount of juice for your daily diet and are not warry of spending more on your fruit purchase then the BJE430SIL will do just fine.

Key Features

  • Easy to use, there practically is nothing to learn or re-learn when switching over to the Breville BJE430SIL.
  • Taller design allows for greater juice collection and this shows with the larger capacity pulp collector as well as the 70 oz juice jug.
  • The juicing jug also comes with a tight lid allowing it to be stored overnight in a refrigerator. Juice stays fresh for at least couple of days when kept in the jug with the tight lid on.
  • Juice does come out slightly colder than other centrifugal juicers so, it is safe to say that this juicer does preserve more nutrients.
  • Completely silent no matter what speed or ingredients it churns through. This is even true for carrots.
  • 850-watt motor helps quickly go through fruits and three speed settings lets you decide depending on the ingredients in question.
  • All components are made from high grade materials. Even the plastic cleans up completely after repeated usage. No staining or dirt accumulation in any nook or cranny.
  • Low in juicing efficiency, the pulp contains pieces of fruits, especially with leafy vegetables and watery fruits.
  • The feed chute design is faulty and needs to be handled with care.
  • Speed Control – Total of three speeds or operations namely, fast, off and slow. Each speed is designed for specific class of fruits and vegetables. At the lowest speeds, it operates at 6500 rpm and at the highest speeds it operates at 13,000 rpm.
  • Quiet Operation – The design and crafting of each individual component is to ensure least possible noise during operations.
  • Storage & Capacity – This juicer features a 2 liter or 70 oz. juice jug that collects directly from the juicer and has its own lid for sealed and secured storage. It also ships with a detachable nozzle.
  • Extra Pulp Capacity – To match the additional juicing quantity, the pulp collector too now holds a larger amount of residue with an approximate 3.6-quart capacity.
  • Elevated Design – The Breville BJE430SIL is unique in its taller than wider design. This allows it to hold a 70 oz. jar underneath and a massive pulp collector but it also allows for greater juicing efficiency and a wider 3-inch feed chute.
