Breville 800JEXL Introduction

The Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt Juice Extractor is the fast juicer for you if you’re looking for a juicer with the ability for two different speed settings (thirteen thousand rotations per minute; high, and six thousand five hundred rotations per minute; low) so that you have full control over how your juice turns out again and again. The higher speed setting allows for a faster juicing whereas the lower speed setting means that the juicing process is more thorough – wasting less food (fruit or vegetables), that results in a more nutritious juice full of flavour and vitamins.

With die-cast steel housing that re-enforces the inner juicing mechanism by means of a non-toxic metal and also prevents any of the juice or pulp from escaping before it can be put to use – the Breville 800JEXL is more cost-effective than most juicers, as with the “Elite” juice extractor; everything you put through the juicer will be used to make the juice, making every penny, or cent, worthwhile. The Breville 800JEXL also has a stainless steel micromesh filter to ensure that even the smallest portions of fruit and vegetables are thoroughly strained giving your juice a smooth, lump free texture, alongside the titanium-plated cutting disk for a corrosion resistant component with the highest strength-to-density ratio of any metallic element known – there’s nothing it won’t cut through.

The juicer is also built with your safety in mind. Its construction involves locking arm bolts that can move in all directions to ensure a secure fit for the locking arm.

Our Breville 800JEXL Review

The Breville 800JEXL is perfectly proportioned to fit all of your fruit and vegetables – whole, to minimise the time taken for the initial food preparation and also to minimise the amount of food and liquid lost from the food e.g. tomatoes, when they’re cut open. The accommodation of whole fruit and vegetables also make life easier when sorting out measures of juice – you can simply put together your favourite fruit/vegetables and now exactly how much of each fruit and vegetable is in each portion of juice (if you mix it) instead of buying chopped fruit and vegetables which isn’t only more expensive, but also means that you don’t always know how many fruit and veg you have in your juice (pre-chopped fruit and vegetables are also more likely to contain preservatives).

The Breville 800JEXL doesn’t only help you to get great tasting juice with a high nutritional value, it also helps to keep your kitchen clean in the process; with a juicing pitcher that perfectly fits the Breville 800JEXL nozzle’s height, and a pulp container to collect the fruit and vegetables that have already had juice extracted from them. And if that’s not enough to help you get to grips with the Breville, they also provide a manual and recipe book, and the juicer itself is comprised of dishwasher-safe parts, so you don’t have to worry about splashing the kitchen when washing it in a small sink.

Having now used it for a month (and thoroughly put it through its paces), we all agree it’s great for fruit and vegetables (and occasionally some anise for that little extra bit of flavour), but it’s important to note that the Breville 800JEXL is a centrifugal juicer – if you’re looking for a juicer that will juice wheatgrass then you need to look at masticating juicers.

The Breville 800JEXL is a breeze to use and produces a very satisfying measure of juice time and time again, leaving you to just put the pitcher in the fridge (to drink cold later) and dismantle the juicer, put it in the dishwasher and wait for it to be cleaned which only leaves you with the responsibility of putting it away.

Breville 800JEXL Specifications & Pros/Cons

Key Features

  • The Breville 800JEXL boasts a powerful motor which ensures consistent juicing time and time again. It doesn’t matter if you’re juicing fruits or vegetables, the 800JEXL is more than capable of easily getting through them all.
  • The two speed controls are outstanding for determining what consistency you fancy. For a more refined texture, simply opt for the half speed control and relax while the Juicer grinds down fruits and vegetables into a fine and delicious drink.
  • The micromesh filter found on the Breville 800JEXL is perhaps one of the most advanced on the market today. No other consumer grade model managed to get rid of the pulp and skin-bits like the Breville 800JEXL was able to.
  • The pulp container is a true life saver. Being able to quickly dispose of mess will save you hours upon hours of time over many years to come.
  • It’s a tad on the expensive side. For those who want a budget Juicer, this Breville model probably isn’t right for you.
  • It needs constant use to justify the price tag. Yes, it’s powerful and yes, it’s reliable. But, you need to be using it weekly, if not daily to get the most out of your expensive investment. This is a Juicer for life – so get in the habit of using it!
  • Two speed controls – as if it wasn’t good enough that the juicer produces great juice very quickly, but it also gives you the opportunity to put the machine on half the speed in order to give the fruit and vegetables a thorough pulping – meaning that when you use the Breville 800JEXL you have the opportunity to enjoy the best of both.
  • Circular three inch feed tube – the three inch feed tube means that there are very few fruit and vegetables that can’t be put whole into the juicer (butternut squash, nectarines etc.), leaving you with a significantly reduced amount of food preparation and more time to get those odd jobs (such as fill out a product satisfaction sheet) completed.
  • Stainlesssteel micromesh filter – the small size of the holes on this quality filter guarantees you a smooth juice again and again – even the smallest of lumps are strained and, as the micromesh filter is made from stainless-steel, there is no risk of metal food poisoning or any other toxic chemicals that would otherwise leech into the juice if a more dangerous and unstable metal was used.
  • Pulp container – the result is unanimous. We all feel that having a container readily available and “made to measure” to catch the unused fruit and vegetables is invaluable – with plenty of space, think ‘small waste bin’, any and all food that isn’t used goes straight into the pulp container, and not on the counter top. This leaves your kitchen free from stains, smears or any other sticky substance that would be a nightmare to scrub off from the work surfaces.
