Cuisinart DLC-8S Introduction

The Cuisinart DLC-8S Pro Custom 11-Cup Food Processor, White is the food processor for you if you’ve found that you’re lacking in time to make the meals you want to a good standard. With multiple capabilities and functionalities, the Cuisinart DLC-8S pro ensures that you can eat healthily on a consistent basis – as food preparation is made that much easier.

The Cuisinart DLC-8S Pro is definitely an amazing appliance, which is only enforced upon learning that the motor is covered under warranty for FIVE years and the entire unit itself is under warranty for THREE years! For such a guarantee to be given, the manufacturers must have complete faith in their product; it definitely passed all of the tests that we put to it with flying colours – we wanted to see how it dealt with different textures and if there were any noticeable effects, not just on the quality of the food that was produced, but also on the machine itself – did it get hot, did the blades slowdown .etc. – the answer to both questions being ‘no’.

The Cuisinart DLC-8S Pro comes equipped with a steel blade, three dual-sided slicing and shredding discs; and a spatula. The steel blade is used for mixing dough, the three different sized slicing and shredding discs can be used for everything ranging from shredding cheese to mincing herbs; and the spatula is provided in order to ensure that the majority of food processed comes out of the food processor as opposed to remaining stuck under the blade or disc, saving you money in the long-run as well as making clean up significantly easier.

Our Cuisinart DLC-8S Review

Cuisinart DLC-8S Food Processor

The Cuisinart DLC-8S Pro can be a great asset when it comes to making multiple dishes – it can carry out a variety of different food processes again and again. The Cuisinart DLC-8S  Pro can mix dough, slice fruit and vegetables, mince herbs, slice cheese and much more – although the previous list of abilities means that the Cuisinart DLC-8S Pro will practically make your pizza for you, not to mention the other sides, desserts and main meals possible thanks to the Cuisinart DLC-8S. With the ability to both chop and puree meat and fish, it’s never any problem to make a soup in a very short amount of time (provided that you remove small fish bones before you puree the fish, or at the very least, put your fish puree through a sieve to ensure that there are no small bones left within the puree).

The Cuisinart DLC-8S Pro’s work bowl of 11 cup capacity means that it’s not difficult to prepare a meal for the whole family while only using the food processor once per meal (depending upon what ingredients the meal consists of and what order they’re prepared in .e.g. it wouldn’t be safe to slice meat before preparing vegetables – the food processor would have to be washed out before the vegetables were prepared in the food processor). And even if the food being prepared isn’t all to be used up in one go – all of the food preparation can be carried out, the meal can be cooked (if necessary) and whatever’s left can go into either the pantry, fridge or freezer and saved as leftovers to be eaten at a later date.

The extra-large feed tube of the Cuisinart DLC-8S Pro means that when processing, the user doesn’t need to first slice and peel the vegetables (which would be half of the food processing carried out manually) in order to fit the ingredients into the food processor – saving the user time and effort (note that extra care should be taken to properly wash the fruit and vegetables as the vegetables with skins, and in particular the skins that are left on the fruit and vegetables are likely to contain more bacteria than those fruit and vegetables without skin).

Cuisinart DLC-8S Specifications & Pros/Cons

Pros

Cons

Key Features

  • The Cuisinart DLC-8S is small and compact – making it one of the most popular consumer favorite devices.
  • While boasting a small base, the DLC-8S sufficiently provides enough power to process through tougher fruits and vegetables.
  • Backed by an industry leading technology brand – Cuisinart. Reliability is guaranteed.
  • While the motor is powerful relative to size, the Cuisinart DLC-8S cannot match the more expensive models, such as the Breville BFP800XL.
  • Detachable Stem – This is truly one of the best things about the Cuisinart DLC-8S Pro food processor. As the stem is particularly made in order to fit all of the assorted discs and blades (metal medium shredding disc, metal standard slicing disc, metal thin slicing disc, plastic dough blade and the metal chopping/mixing blade), each one can be used with the same food processor – the multi-functionality of the Cuisinart DLC-8S Pro saving the user time, space and money.
  • The Manual – Complete with recipes, illustrated step by step instructions from assembling the Cuisinart DLC-8S Pro to cleaning and disassembling it at the end of every use, not to mention splitting the instructions up by blade or disc (helping the user to thoroughly understand what each blade and disc is used for), and even giving the optimum capacity for the work bowl for different ingredients specifically tailored to the Cuisinart DLC-8S Pro; the food processor manual is one of the most gratifying things about the Cuisinart DLC-8S Pro. It also provides a troubleshooting section and a breakdown of the warranty so that users can take full advantage.
  • Extra Large Feed Tube – This helpful feature of the Cuisinart DLC-8S Pro means that larger pieces of food can be fed directly into the food processor with less or no chopping beforehand, depending on what food is being used, what action the user is taking with the food processor and what blade they’re using for that particular action .e.g. whether they’re using the medium shredding disc with mozzarella, other harder cheeses or long fruits and vegetables; or using the metal blade to make cooked egg mayonnaise and home-made bread to go with it (although not at the same time).
